Project description

This project explores a modular keyboard concept designed around adaptability, material contrast, and interaction-focused hardware design. The keyboard features a magnetic touch bar screen that attaches seamlessly to the top surface. When docked, the bar functions as a touch-enabled control interface with an integrated speaker. When detached, it transforms into a monitor light bar, equipped with a powerful built-in speaker engineered to deliver front-facing, screen-aligned surround sound, creating the perception that audio originates directly from the display. The product is envisioned using precision-machined aluminium as the primary structure, paired with a subtle wooden interior accent to introduce warmth and balance the technological aesthetic. This contrast was intentional—combining industrial precision with natural texture to elevate the keyboard into a tech-luxury object rather than just a peripheral.
