Afloat
Project description
Afloat is a browser-based multiplayer kayaking experience built around a simple idea: **What if a game wasn't about winning, but about slowing down and exploring together?** Afloat takes players on a peaceful journey across three landscapes in India: 🏞️ Rishikesh — paddle along the Ganga, past ghats, temples and Lakshman Jhula. 🍁 Kashmir— glide across Nigeen Lake through houseboats, lotus beds, crimson chinars and snow-covered mountains. 🌴Kerala— drift through palm-lined backwaters, paddy fields, houseboats and traditional fishing landscapes. The experience combines **multiplayer exploration, stylised environments, atmospheric day/evening transitions, responsive kayaking controls and ambient storytelling. Instead of scores, enemies or timers, Afloat is designed around exploration and shared discovery. Players can simply paddle, look around, rest and experience the environment together. You can also bring your own soundtrack through Spotify, making each journey feel personal. Afloat was designed and developed by **Dramebots**, exploring how AI-assisted creative development can allow a small creative team to move rapidly from concept and art direction to a fully playable, immersive web experience. The project explores a different kind of game design — one where **the journey itself is the reward.** 🌊 Play Afloat: https://afloat-three.vercel.app Best experienced on desktop/laptop.
