BASILICATË is a cultural project that chronicles the presence and evolution of the Lucanian identity throughout the world, with a specific focus on communities in Argentina, the United States, and Uruguay. Its name introduces the diaeresis from the Lucanian dialect and transforms "Basilicata" into a plural form, becoming a symbol of the multiple expressions that cultural identity assumes as it crosses borders, generations, and continents. Through exhibitions, publications, meetings, and research activities, the project constructs a collective self-portrait of Lucanian communities abroad, fostering a dialogue between traditions of origin and host cultures. It is a shared journey that weaves together memory, migration, and belonging, providing a pluralistic narrative of Basilicata and its cultural heritage beyond geographical boundaries.
