Project description

Nine Lanterns: Every brief has a face Every studio knows the same projects. The small website that was never small. The one due yesterday and briefed today. The one nobody can talk about and everybody wants to. The rebrand that's back a year later. For Halloween we gave each of them a face. Nine briefs anyone in the trade has met are carved into lanterns and set on a rock spire that rises out of the mist. Each lantern has a name, an expression and a line written to it: the simple one smirks because it knows, the secret one has its lips stitched shut. You climb the spire by scrolling, from the mist at its foot to the top, meeting the nine one at a time. They react when you come close: the flame leans towards you and sparks escape through the carved holes. The studio stays quiet the whole way up and speaks once, at the top: "We've carved them all." Then: "Bring us the brief." It's a seasonal piece, and a fair picture of how we work. Idea, design, motion and code came from one team, with no handoffs between them.
