Where iPhone Duo comes from

Project description

GoodBarber is a mobile app builder for iOS, Android and PWA. Our design team publishes DuoApps, an open knowledge base on designing apps for iPhone Duo. This shot is the history slider on its home page. Six iPhone formats, from 2007 to iPhone Duo, and what each one changed for app design. One screen size in 2007, two heights in 2012, two widths and size classes in 2014, the all-screen display and the safe area in 2017, the Dynamic Island in 2022, and two displays in 2026. Every device is drawn at the same scale, from the dimensions in its tech specs, with the same generic app, drawn by our design team: from one era to the next, only its layout changes. Text, visuals and demos on DuoApps are free to reuse under CC BY 4.0, with a credit to the page.
