Globo Typeface by Typeverything.com

Project description
Globo is an a new energetic inclined titling typeface. The design began with a sketch found in the 1960 edition of Samuel Welo’s Studio Handbook for Artists and Advertisers, a rich visual archive of over 250 pages of lettering styles and layouts. One example, labeled “call this Chrysler,” featured bold uppercase poster lettering that instantly stood out. It captured the spirit of mid-century book covers: lively, expressive, and unmistakably handmade. Though rooted in brush lettering, the letterforms had a solid, robust quality that gave them a more contemporary edge. In expanding the sketch into a full typeface, we saw Globo as a modern alternative to classics like Balloon or Banco, fonts with a similar brush energy, but updated for today’s context. Globo thrives in settings where bold personality is key: sports, kids' products, food branding, music, streetwear, and more. Anywhere energy meets attitude, Globo delivers.
