Project description

This project is an interactive 3D ship selection screen built for my indie game (Laser Drift). The objective was to create a stylized, real-time 3D interface that merges game aesthetics, web technology, and cinematic animation into a seamless experience. I documented the entire workflow in a 3-part video series on my YouTube channel, showing how the project evolves from concept to a fully interactive scene. Part 1 — From AI concept art to 3D modeling and scene setup in Blender Part 2 — UV mapping, baked textures, GLB optimization, and Three.js integration Part 3 — Ship animation in Blender, custom shader effects (wireframe reveal), UI composition, and final polish with GSAP Tech Stack - Blender — Modeling, UVs, baking, animation - AI Tools — Concept generation for visual direction - Three.js — Real-time 3D rendering on the web - React + Next.js — UI and application structure - GLSL Shaders — Custom wireframe reveal and visual effects - GSAP — Timeline-based animations and transitions The repository link is available in the video descriptions so anyone can explore, learn from, or reuse parts of the project.
