Project description

I do love performing arts projects a lot, and have been lucky enough to complete a few for brilliant clients over the years. This exploration is me using the skills and tools I have today to re-imagine what the experience of a symphonic orchestra website could look like, provided a blank brief. • Splash intro screen (soft spot nostalgia for them, anyone?) made with Spline. Inspired by a personal love of surrealism dream-like environments. Keeping it simple and low on polygons, even the violin is relatively low on poly count. • GSAP UI is sooooooo good to refine timeline animation timings without having to publish every time you adjust the timeline. Used for the stagger introduction of the navigation and the scroll transitions. • Simple classic webflow interactions are used on the CTAs to mimic music sheet lines on hover. • AI usage for assets: Midjourney to generate placeholder loop videos. Claude AI to write titles and intros for fake news articles. Content other than articles is written by me, other images are from Unsplash. Something I learned when using Webflow interactions to animate the Spline camera fly-in: the values override the actual Spline XYZ coordinates (so setting it to 0,0,0 will actually move the element(s) to these coordinates in the Spline scene). Something I will definitely keep in mind to set up future 3D assets.
